Charles Buckner -

Charles M. Buckner is the president and CEO of First Citizens Financial Corporation and First Citizens Bank of Georgia. He is also director of each entity. Charles has more than 34 years of banking experience, most recently as president of Midtown Bank & Trust Company in Atlanta, Georgia, where he served from 2003-2006. Prior to that, he was President and CEO of Tucker Federal Bank when it sold to RBC Centura in 2002. Previously, Charles was President and CEO of Southern Crescent Bank for seven years until its sale to Tucker Federal Bank.

Charles also worked for Bank South Corp. (now Bank of America) for seventeen years, last serving as senior vice president of the Metro Atlanta Banking Division before moving into the community banking arena. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama and the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University. He also attended the Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma. Charles is married to a current State Senator, and former Democratic candidate for Secretary of State of Georgia, Gail Buckner. Charles and Gail recently build a new home at Big Canoe in Dawson County, Georgia. They have three children and six grandchildren.
